$ 1 billion U.S dollars for the Vietnam largest gas pipeline
Block B - O Mon Gas pipeline is an important project of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group with a total investment of $ 1 billion U.S dollar, of which the members PVGAS of the group is involved 51%. 49% of total remaining capital is contributed by foreign partners: Chevron (USA), MOECO (Japan) and PTTEP (Thailand).
This is one of the gas pipeline route with biggest scale in Vietnam, with a total length of nearly 400 km, of which about 246 km above the sea, on the coast about 152 km, passing Can Tho City and Hau Giang, Kien Giang, Bac Lieu, Ca Mau Provinces.
The project when completed will transport natural gas exploited from Block B, 48/95 and 52/97 in the Vietnam southwest waters with a capacity of 18.3 million cubic meters of gas per day (equivalent to 6.4 billion cubic meters of gas a year) to supply power plants in Central Electricity of O Mon, Can Tho, Tra Noc (total capacity of 3000 MW), providing additional part for Gas-Power-Fertilizer Industry Zone in Ca Mau Province, as well as other household consumption in the South West.
