Airliners raise domestic flights’ fares
National carrier Vietnam Airlines (VNA) said on Thursday that the new  maximum airfare for its economy-class services had been increased by 20  per cent compared with the current rate.
VNA said it had increased single tickets for the HCMC – Hanoi route by  15 per cent, from VND2.22 million ($106) to VND2.56 million, excluding  taxes and surcharges.
Single tickets for HCMC – Da Nang flights were also increased to VND1.7  million from VND1.4 million, while fares for other shorter routes would  also be increased by 20 per cent.
VNA said there was a range of prices available for passengers to choose  with the minimum price of VND1.05 million, excluding taxes, being  offered at certain times.
Budget carrier Jetstar Pacific also raised its fares as of December 16.
Accordingly, one-way tickets for HCMC – Vinh and HCMC – Hanoi services  now range between VND950,000 and VND2.5 million, not including taxes and  surcharges, and for HCMC – Da Nang, from VND490,000 to VND1.64 million.
Meanwhile, VietJet Air, which is Vietnams’ second low-cost carrier,  said it had yet to announce new airfares. This carrier is currently  offering only one route connecting HCMC and Hanoi, with single tickets  costing VND900,000.
