Construction of Noi Bai-Lao Cai highway starts

The 264km highway, the longest of its kind in the country, invested by the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC), will be built with modern design and advanced technology, allowing a maximum speed of 100 km per hour.

Construction of the expressway, passing Hanoi, Vinh Phuc, Phu Tho and Yen Bai provinces, is divided into two phases, with investment into the first phase reaching nearly 20 trillion VND.

Once completed, the express way will reduce time from Hanoi to northern mountainous Lao Cai to 3-4 hours, and be the shortest road linking China’s Southwest region and ASEAN countries.

On the same day, PM Nguyen Tan Dung worked with local authorities to talk about the Government measures to prevent economic recession and maintain production in order to ensure social security.
