HCM City: CPI rises by 0.68 percent in July
According to the city’s Statistics Office, in the first seven months of this year, CPI registered an average monthly increase of 0.54 percent.
The highest price rises were recorded in commodities: 2.69 percent in transport-post-telecommunications services and 1.5 percent in housing-electricity, water, fuel and constructional materials. Culture-entertainment-tourism services and household equipment and utensils saw a slight increase in CPI.
In July, foodstuff prices experienced a slight decrease with cattle meat falling by 1.49 percent, poultry meat by 1.24 percent and vegetables by 3.28 percent. However, processed meat rose by 0.23 percent, egg by 1.57 percent, seafood by 2.06 percent and fruits by 2.57 percent.
This month, the gold price dropped by 0.14 percent and the price of the US dollar rose by 1.3 percent.
