Ho Chi Minh City hosts mega-expo

The three trade shows - Metalex Vietnam 2014, Nepcon Vietnam 2014 and Industrial Components and Subcontracting Vietnam 2014 (ICSV) – will all take place at Ho Chi Minh City’s Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre (SECC) during October 9-11, 2014, according to Duangdej Yuaikwarmdee, deputy managing director and general manager of Reed Tradex Vietnam Limited.

The shows are put together by leading Thai event organiser Reed Tradex and the Business Alliance 2014 for Supporting Industry will be co-organised by Japan External Trade Organisation Ho Chi Minh Office and Ho Chi Minh City Investment & Trade Promotion Centre.

“We believe this collaboration will tremendously benefit the growth of support industries,” Yuaikwarmdee said.

At the event, visitors will gain exposure to the latest machine tools and metalworking technologies through Metalex Vietnam. Nepcon Vietnam will present new SMT and testing technologies and equipment for electronics manufacturing.

100 Japanese and Vietnamese sellers will also be there, looking for buyers, industrial parts and Vietnamese suppliers of quality parts and components through the Business Alliance for Supporting Industry 2014.

With the presence of more than 60 manufacturers from Hanoi and Thailand means the co-location of ICSV is an ideal place to source quality industrial parts.

The mega-expo provides a platform for over 700 technology providers to showcase a vast array of metalworking solutions and SMT technologies to boost productivity. Nine international pavilions will allow visitors to gain new knowledge and networking opportunities through exclusive seminars and associated activities.

Also, for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnamese industrialists will enjoy an exciting and inspirational experience in competition for Koma Taisen – a featured event of  Metalex Vietnam 2014 - on October 11 at SECC’s Meeting Room.

The winner will take part in the World Championship Sekai Koma Taisen 2015, which will be held on February 15, 2015 in Japan’s Yokohama City.

“The Koma Taisen tournament gathers small and medium-sized manufacturing associations (SMEs) from all over Japan,” said Yuaikwarmdee.

“It is designed to promote the prosperity of the manufacturing industry through competition of Koma (spintop) showcasing skills and technology, as well as providing the opportunity for participating companies to promote their professional skills to the world”.

In addition, “The third Hand Soldering Championship” will be organised once again in conjunction with Nepcon Vietnam as a talent search for the best hand soldering technicians.

“We are confident in the professionalism of Reed Tradex as every show organised by them is of high quality,” said Hiroshi Saito, managing director of Tostem Thai Limited, an event exhibitor. “I would like to invite all industrialists to come experience the innovative technologies, new ideas, and new networks at the show”.

Zann Kin, senior marketing executive of Hisakaworks Sea Sdn Bhd Vietnam’s representative office said, “Metalex Vietnam is very important in bringing together various industries. Every year, the event attracts important people in their occupation and expertise to participate in this exhibition, making it even more valuable.”
