The new industrial estate is conveniently located about 50 kilometers from Hanoi, and in close proximity to Noi Bai International Airport and the seaports of Hai Phong and Cai Lan.

The project owner Vina-CPK Company Ltd. is a joint venture between Vietnam Infrastructure Limited, a fund managed by VinaCapital, and CPK Vinh Phuc Joint Stock Company.

The company was granted the investment license in February 2009 to develop the Ba Thien 2 project in many phases with the first phase of 65 hectares having been handed over to the company in January this year.

Compensation of an additional 50 hectares is in progress and is expected to be completed in June.

Tony Hsun, managing director of VinaCapital Group, said in a statement “We are very pleased with the progress of the Ba Thien 2 project… The project is strategically located and will benefit from the continued arrival of multinational companies in Vietnam, including those migrating from plants in China to take advantage of Vietnam’s lower costs.”

VinaCapital is one of leading investment management and real estate development firms in Vietnam, with a diversified portfolio of US$1.7 billion in assets under management. It now manages three closed-end funds trading on the AIM Market of the London Stock Exchange, namely Vietnam Opportunity Fund Limited (VOF), VinaLand Limited (VNL), and Vietnam Infrastructure Limited (VNI).

VinaCapital also co-manages the DFJ VinaCapital L.P. technology venture capital fund with Draper Fisher Jurvetson.
