Japanese enterprises to find opportunities for cooperation with Hochiminh City urban development
Mr. Takeo Obayashi, Chairman Obayashi, Chairman - Head of delegation, said two focusal issues of this visit is to understand the situation and opportunities for cooperation with the City in training human resources and planning urban development.
At the meeting with the City Chairman Le Hoang Quan, March 10th, Mr. Obayashi said the delegaton, including president, directors, advisers and senior managers of enterprises had had seminars, works with University of Economics, College of Agriculture and Forestry and the Institute of City Planning to develop a better understanding of the reality, the needs and objectives of human resource development and planning of urban development of the City in the near future. With the presence of enterprises in many fields such as construction, banking, chemical industry, transportation, electronics, telecommunications, etc, interests of the Japanese enterprises have gone to specific needs and objectives of each area of the City.
Sharing with the delegation’s care, Mr. Le Hoang Quan emphasized in economic - social development of the City, the people problem is on the top with the investment policies for education, training and development human resources. The City is gradually diverted to focus on economic sectors with high technical content, so the demand for quality human resources is enormous.
Highly appreciating the Japanese projects have been implemented/been implementing in Ho Chi Minh City, Mr. Le Hoang Quan affirmed that the City is ready to create favorable conditions for Japanese businesses investing effectively. Chairman Le Hoang Quan also particularly appreciated the role of contractor Obayashi in the project West - East Avenue, especially with Thu Thiem Tunnel crossing the Saigon, the first river crossing tunnels of Vietnam and the biggest of Southeast Asia, is currently in the process of installation, will contribute to significantly improve transport infrastructure of the City.
