Long Thanh Airport: Serve 100 million passengers per year
The new Long Thanh International airport approved by the Prime Minister will replace the current Tan Son Nhat airport to serve growing travel requirements in Ho Chi Minh City.
The new airport will be bult in Dong Nai Province and would occupy 70% of its capital from the State and the remaining of 30% from strategic foreign partners and other stakeholders.
The new Long Thanh International Airport covers 5,000 ha in Doing Nai’s Long Thanh District and has a total investment of over USD 8 billion. The new airport is expected to be competetive with other major airports in the region.

The Long Thanh area will also be built into a modern city with an estimated population of 230,000, according to a recent working session between the provincial authorities and the Hansen Partnership, an Australian consulting company.
The provincial People’s Committee asked the Hansen Partnership to devise planning for the project and assigned its departments to consult with the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Transport.
