Ninh Thuận: Creating attractions by its innovations

Ninh Thuan has breakthrough in creating favourable investment environment, especially foreign investment which include hiring foreign consultants to sketch holistic development scenerio, selecting clean economic development, promoting competitive business and investment.

 

 

At the press conference announcing “Investment Promotion  Conference to Ninh Thuan in 2009” held on September 9 in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyến Chí Dũng – Deputy Party Secretary cum People’s Committee Chairman confirmed that Ninh Thuan had hired Monitor Group – a World leading consultancy which experienced in sketching development scenerio for 120 economies and transnation groups. The USD 3 million development scenario for Ninh Thuan is planned to be completed early 2010.
 

Up to date, Ninh Thuan is the first province which hire foreign consultants for making development plan. Answering to the press about the reasons for this daring decision, Mr. Dũng said that Ninh Thuan is a poor province, left behind others. Therefore, to have breakthroughs, Ninh Thuan has to do differently, to have innovations to make higher added value than others. The weakness but also the strength of Ninh Thuan is its low population density and undeveloped economy which is not so difficult to make a holistic development plan with specific, clear objectives, and missions for all socio-economic areas. The province hope that Monitor Group with its reputation, experience and objective, independent perspectives would provide proper analysis and evaluation of Ninh Thuan status based on which new models, new ideas and values are recommended as breakthroughs while the province’s sustainable development is still maintained

 

Speaking at the conference, Mr. Phan Hữu Thắng, MPI representative said that Ninh Thuan due to its low, late development still has quite a lot of clean area. The province had hired professional consultants, that help the province not only have holistic and complete development plan but also become the most modern province of the country. These will help the province attract investment, especially foreign investment.

 

  

At the Investment Promotion Conference to Ninh Thuan to be held next October, 54 projects (potentials for development of Ninh Thuan) such as clean energy industry (wind generated, solar energy), tourism, mineral exploration and processing, aquaculture will be introduced to investors.

 

Regarding the energy industry, Mr. Nguyễn Chí Dũng, Ninh Thuan People’s Committee Chairman confirmed that Ninh Thuan is planned by the State to be national largest clean energy center. This is clearly shown by the State approval on Report on nuclear power plant development planning to 2030 and decision on construction of 2 nuclear power plants with the total capacity of 10,000MW in Ninh Thuan.

 

Agreed with this statement, Mr. Hiroyuki Moribe, Chief representative of JETRO also confirmed that Ninh Thuan is an ideal place for developing clean energy industry such as wind, wave generated, solar energy. The province with the construction of 2 nuclear power plants would have more conditions for infurstructure development and foreign investment attraction. Japan would actively support the province in constructing these two plants with Japanese style.

 

Ninh Thuan has great potentials for developing tourism and real estate with its advantaged 105km coastal line, world class beaches, and locations adjoining two famous tourism centers which are Lam Dong, Khanh Hoa.However, in order not to be outshone by these two famous centeres (Nha Trang of Khanh Hoa and Da Lat of Lam Dong), Ninh Thuan would focus on high standard resort tourism to create distinguished and quality tourism services. Ninh Thuan – Khanh Hoa – Lam Dong tourism cluster would rank the first in the Central Coast of Vietnam.

 

Mr. Nguyễn Chí Dũng said that Ninh Thuan aspire to arouse its potentials and promote sustainable development by creating good living conditions with holistically developed education and heathcare systems to attract investors, the talented and middle class to live, work and study in the province. Thus, besides exploiting its economic potententials suc has energy industry, tourism, Ninh Thuan are calling for investment in establishing high quality human resource training institutions to provide human resource of good quality in energy industry not only for the province but also for the Central Coast. Currently the province is considering proposals for establishing universities and cooperating with foreign universities.

“Investment Promotion  Conference to Ninh Thuan 2009” held on October 17, 2009 -  the most important investment promotion conference, assessed by MPI. The conference is  held with the objectives to promote “clean” economy and sustainable development in Ninh Thuan.   With the theme “Ninh Thuan – Investment Potentials and Opportunities”, the conference will provide opportunites for domestic and foreign organizations, investors to meet, share experience and seek for investment and cooperation chances in the province. At the conference, Monitor Group will present their proprosal on socio-economic development plan for Ninh Thuan in the coming time.
