PTSC signs deal to manage Hon La Port
After the transition, PTSC will expand Hon La Port, upgrade equipment to raise capacity, better transport services, and proceed with the second phase.
Under the contract, PTSC will take over the port along with all properties formed in the phase 1 to continue operation, exploit and invest in the following phases. PTSC will take over rights and duties of the former owner in the first phase and benefit from local preferential polices to develop the port under the Government’s sea port develop program.
The enterprise will also enjoy incentives at the Hon La Economic Zone. Hon La Port plays an important role in the PTSC’s deep-water port development plan, said PTSC general director Nguyen Hung Dung. PTSC also has plans to invest in Nghi Son Port in Thanh Hoa Province, he added.
Hon La port is located on a strategic position of the North-South sea transport route, Central Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. The port has berth, measured at 100 meters long and 25.5 meters wide, and a water depth of 9.2 meters to receive 10,000 DWT vessels.
