Son La hydropower plant ly to be inaugurated in Dec
Regarding electricity source, in September 2012, the group generated electricity and joined the national grid for the sixth turbine, the last one, of Son La hydropower plant (400 MW). According to EVN, in the first nine months of this year, the group had advantages in hydropower development thanks to plentiful water source in hydroelectric reservoir of 98.9 billion cubic meters, about 18.2 cubic meters higher than expected.
In the fourth quarter of 2012, EVN will strive to generate electricity for the first turbine of Ban Chat hydropower plant (110MW), lifting the total number of turbines in operations in 2012 to seven amongst eight turbines with a total capacity of 1,263 MW/1,373 MW.
In addition, the group will complete the preparation to kick off construction for three projects namely Trung Son hydropower plant, Duyen Hai 3 thermo power plant and sea port project at Duyen Hai electricity centre, ensure the progress for Bung River 2 hydropower plant project and prepare to inaugurate Son La hydropower plant in December 2012.
EVN also said that in the remaining months of 2012, EVN will strive for reasonable exploitation of electricity sources and safe operation of the power system to provide enough electricity for production and living.
