Thanh Hoa authorities pledged to support Naanovo’s waste to energy facililty
Deputy Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Ngoc Hoi made the statement at a recent meeting with Steven J. R. Brant, president cum CEO of the Canadian company, on issues related to the latter’s waste-to-energy project in Dong Nam commune, Dong Son district in Thanh Hoa.
According to Hoi, the project is in a field into which Thanh Hoa prioritises attracting investment. “The province is going to do everything in order for the project to be started soon,” he said.
Naanovo’s CEO Steven Brant hoped Thanh Hoa authorities continued helping the company complete necessary procedures to start the project soon so that construction can finish in July 2017.
Naanovo’s $101.6 million WTE Thanh Hoa plant is located on a 25 hectare site and has the treatment capacity of 200,000 tonnes of waste per year. The technology used in the plant was invented by Naanovo and was successfully implemented in Sweden. Naanovo plans to build the project using money it borrows.
Thanh Hoa authorities approved the project in mid-April this year. The province and related government agencies have since helped the company build the 2.5-kilometre long road linking the National Road 45 with the project site.
