US$39 million added to Southern Coastal Corridor Project

The sum comes from the Asian Development Bank’s loan of US$25 million and an Australian non-refundable aid of US$12 million.
The Deputy PM assigned the Ministry of Transport to receive comments from other agencies and ratify the project as regulated.
The project aims to establish an international road connecting crucial economic areas of Viet Nam, Cambodia, Thailand and other nations in the region, create favorable conditions for regional economic development, consolidate national security and contribute to poverty reduction in bordering provinces in the southwest of Viet Nam.
The route runs 950 kilometers from Bangkok to Viet Nam’s Ca Mau City. The section in Viet Nam is 217 km long.
