Vietnam boosts audit co-operation with Belgium and Netherlands
The visit was made at the invitation of President of the Belgian Court of Audit Philippe Roland.
During their meeting Roland said as a member of the European Association of Supreme Audit Institutions (EUROSAI) and President of the budget committee of French speaking countries, Belgium wants to further boost cooperation in auditing with Vietnam, a member of French speaking countries in Asia.
Vietnamese and Belgian audit officials agreed to cooperate more closely to boost their understanding and share experiences in improving the role and responsibility of audit agency.
While in Belgium, the Vietnamese delegation also worked with relevant departments of the Belgian Court of Audit on experiences in tax and State-owned enterprise audit.
As a member of the Executive Board of the Asian Organisation of the Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI), SAV expects a closer cooperation between ASOSAI and EUROSAI in general, and the Belgian Court of Audit in particular in seeking measures to cope with impacts of the global financial crisis and the current public debt crisis, Hue said.
He also said SAV wishes to join the Association of French Speaking Superior Control Institutions (AISCCUF).
Earlier, the SAV delegation visited the Netherlands at the invitation of President of the Netherlands Court of Audit (NCA) Saskia J. Stuiveling.
They held talks with NCA Deputy President Gijs de Vries, who said that the Netherlands government praised relations between NCA and SAV and that sharing experiences will benefit both sides.
While in the Netherlands, the Vietnamese auditors had a working session with Charlie Aptroot, Chairman of the Public Account Committee (PAC) under the Netherlands parliament to learn about PAC role in audit reports.
They also worked with NCA’s sections on audit experiences, relations with the parliament and cooperation possibilities between the two sides.
