The figure was announced at a meeting to review three years of Vietnamese trade and investment promotion in Cambodia, held by the Association of Vietnamese Investors in Cambodia (AVIC) and the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) in Phnom Penh, in Cambodia on December 25.

The event was attended by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia Men Sam An, Secretary General of CDC Sok Chenda Sophea and Vietnamese Ambassador to Cambodia Ngo Anh Dung.

The total import-export turnover between Vietnam-Cambodia is estimated to reach nearly US$3.3 billion in 2012, up 17.8% over last year, according to the AVIC.

Vietnam leaded the number of international arrivals to Cambodia, with 638,000 tourists in the first ten months of 2012, up 6.3% compared to the same period in 2011.

AVIC set targets of increasing Vietnam’s direct investment in Cambodia to US$ 3.2 billion and a two-way trade value to US$5 billion by 2015.
