Vietnam’s biggest urea plant back from maintenance

PVFCCo says in its press release the maintenance was started with 415 items and the plant has returned to operation. During the maintenance, PVFCCo has boosted the import to offset the shortage in the central region and the Mekong Delta that are in the peak of the summer-autumn crop.

The second largest rice crop in the year expected to consume totally 600,000 tons of urea fertilizer and Dam Phu My plant was able to contribute just one third of the amount due to the maintenance.

Dam Phu My plant has since last September increased the capacity from 740,000 tons to 800,000 tons per year as well as boosted the output in the first four months of the year by 13% from the same period last year.

The fertilizer plant came into operation in 2008. So far Dam Phu My plant has provided the market with five million tons of urea.
