Work on Nhon Trach 2 power plant begins
The 750MW plant with an investment capital of over US$700 million is expected to produce 4.5 billion kWh of electricity annually, helping to ease the country’s power shortages until 2015.
The project is being built in the form of Engineering-Procurement-Construction (EPC) by the Vietnam Machinery Erection Corporation (Lilama) and the PetroVietnam Construction Joint Stock Company (PVC).
Major machinery and equipment for the plant will be supplied by the German contractor Siemens under a US$375 million contract.
