Zoning plan for Hanoi-Vinh Expressway approved

Zoning plan for Hanoi-Vinh Expressway approved
Under the zoning plan, the expressway will start from Beltway No. 3 in Hanoi and end at the intersection with National Road No. 8 in Ha Tinh Province. The highway project includes a 40-kilometer stretch in the capital city.

The master plan, which only serves as a guiding orientation for development between now and 2025, will have urban areas and other functioning areas along the expressway with total area of about 4,000 square kilometers in Hanoi, Ha Nam, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

The zoning plan is meant to set up an economic connection between Hanoi and its adjacent localities mentioned above, which in turns will help spur socio-economic development of the northern region. It will also boost land values along the expressway and necessitate the development of townships and supplementary facilities.

The land allocated for industrial zones will reach about 25,000 hectares and for new townships about 60,000 hectares.
