PPP model to be applied in Hai Phong International gateway port project
Ministry of Transportation assigned Vietnam National Sipping Lines (Vinalines) as the main investor. The implementation process will be divided into two parts: Part A of the project include construction work for infrastructure in external area of the port with the total investment capital of USD 260 million to be contributed by the State from ODA loans offered by Japan and counterpart capital. In Part B, Vinalines will build two container harbours with the total investment value of USD 165 million.
When to be finished, Hai Phong International Gateway Port will become one of the largest ports in the Northern region, including four container harbours, two moveable harbours and five general department harbours with designed capacity of 35 million tonnes of goods per year.
