Ship-building and auto industries face various difficulties

Accordingly, the industrial production value of the whole sector during the first six months of 2009 is estimated at VND14.6 billion, accounting for 31% of the year’s target; 8.5% less than for the same period last year. The sector’s turnover reached only VND12.5 billion, equivalent to 29.9% of the year’s plan and a decrease of 7.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.

The report also showed that the ship-building industry’s production value reached only VND10,400 billion, down by 3.3% over the same period last year while that of auto industry was estimated at over VND2,000 billion, a year-on-year decrease of 20.5%.
