Ha Noi spends US$23.9million on highway No 419
Deputy chairman of Ha Noi People’s Committee Nguyen Van Khoi gave the green line for the scheme, which will focus on provincial highway No419 in the south west of the city.
The project will upgrade the highway’s section between Km44 and Km60 in the city’s My Duc district and is expected to run from 2013 until 2015.
Funding for the construction will come from within the city budget, comprising of construction costs VND334billion ($15.1 million), land compensation and resettlement costs of VND48 billion ($2.1 million).
Once completed, the section is expected to improve the city’s traffic capacity and connect it to other routes in the area, as well as providing an economic boost to nearby residents.
