Introduction
Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority - HEPZA
- Pursuant to the Decision No.731/TTg dated October 3rd, 1996 of the Prime Minister, The Ho Chi Minh City Export Processing and Industrial Zones Authority (HEPZA) was established to carry out state administration of all activities of the export processing and industrial zones (EPZ & IP) in Ho Chi Minh City with the “ONE STOP SERVICE” principle.
- Authorized to issue investment licenses for all projects with investment capital up to US$ 40 million in EPZs and up to 10 million USD in the IPs, HEPZA is authorized by related ministries, ministerial level agencies and the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City to implement state administration in such fields as investment, finance, trade, construction, the environment, labor, etc.
- HEPZA is designated as a sole coordinator for promoting, supervising and speeding up the implementation of the City Government’s directions concerning the EPZ & IP and to make reports to the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City; coordinate with the city departments and district authorities to report to the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City for solving the issues on compensation, site clearance, technical infrastructure, transportation and plans concerning EPZ & IP within the authority of the People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City.
